The Southernhay Child Contact Centre is in the centre of Exeter very close to the Bus Station and bus stops in the High Street and a short walk from Exeter Central Station. It is a meeting place where children can enjoy the company of adults from whom they are separated.

A relationship breakdown need not affect your bond with your child/grandchild. You still have an important part to play in the child's life. The majority of children want, and need, to maintain a relationship with parents and other relatives who are important to them.  Not all separated parents find it easy to achieve this.  Trust may have broken down.  Communication may have become difficult.  If so, it may seem almost impossible to make arrangements for a child to spend quality time with the parent or relative they no longer live with.  This is where we can help.

What is it like?

We aim to create a warm, sociable atmosphere where your children can relax and enjoy themselves. Our Centre has a variety of games, toys and books for children of all ages. It is a child-centred environment that puts the needs image of a parent playing with childrenof the children first.  We offer a safe neutral meeting place where the staff won’t take sides but wish to operate in the best interests of your child.

Over four thousand volunteers and staff work in these Centres throughout the UK, and over twenty thousand children use them each year. The Centres are overseen by the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC).
